About

The Ham Laser Guy is actually none other than Daimon Tilley, G4USI. Daimon has been a licensed radio amateur since 1982, and since retiring from his 30 year emergency services career in 2015 has become an avid “maker” and creator. Daimon lives with his family on a smallholding on the Eastern edge of Exmoor in Somerset, where they keep cows, sheep, pigs and poultry, as well as growing their own fruit, vegetables and flowers. The orchard plays host to annual cider making where Daimon and friends produce about 600 pints of delicious cider a year.

Working in China, 2016.

Other hobbies include woodturning, often from his own felled trees, 3D printing, his vintage 1969 Land Rover, and running with his dog. The acquisition of a laser cutter / engraver, led Daimon to experimenting with signs and coasters. Positive feedback from fellow amateurs and emergency services colleagues led him to offer this service a little more widely. Nothing more than a hobby business, The Ham Laser Guy is not aiming for the London Stock Exchange and is just seeking to bring a little joy to you or someone you know.

An avid radio constructor and QRP enthusisast, Daimon runs another website, where he publishes all of his printed articles on amateur radio related subjects, as a result of his regular columns in Practical Wireless and RadCom magazines. That site can be found at www.g4usi.wordpress.com
